Real Weddings: Seeh Ming & Ruisong @ Alkaff Mansion (Part 1)

Creating a “Vintage Whimsical” themed wedding at the Alkaff Mansion required the use of peach and mint coloured paper rosettes, ribbon streamers and fairy lights. Thinking back these are probably the most basic elements, Rosette Designs & Co started with.

A little backstory… at every meeting, we chat with a couple to find out what they want for a wedding before providing them with a quote to decide if they will confirm our services. As much as we find every discussion to be fun and the ideas to be exciting for us, it largely depends on the couple to be comfortable with the budget before we can work towards their goal.

Sometimes, you cannot help it but feel things really happen for a reason. For example, we had wanted to find a carpenter friend (someone who can build wooden props for us) and because of Seeh Ming & Ruisong, we had an opportunity to work with one and we tried to build a huge wooden palette photo gallery backdrop for them. This became the photo corner as well at their reception area. Seeh Ming & Ruisong were one of the most receptive couples we have met and they took all our suggestions & proposals. What I am trying to say is, it all works in a circle; what goes around comes around and we are really thankful to have all these great people around us. The most important thing is to have met and exceeded Seeh Ming & Ruisong’s  expectations for wedding decor.

Seeh Ming and Ruisong were also unsure of what they should use as their wedding icon or monogram. They drew a picture of Monchhichi and Optimus Prime holding hands and we thought it was a very interesting idea. During the process, they almost wanted to scrap the idea but we managed to tweak the design into the theme. It stuck to the theme really well and we are more than happy that it all gels together.
Happy Couple = Happy Team.

So, look out for guests appearances by the couple’s favourite characters, Monchhichi and Optimus Prime in the decor!

This was the inspiration board that we created for this wedding

P/S: This was the picture Ruisong drew for us to create the icon! We managed to retain elements of it for the invite.

It was fun really and you can take a look at the first few versions we came up with:
