He says: Thank You (Part 2) – Alvinadeline Videography

Our very Capable Videographers!

To me, a very important aspect of the wedding banquet or service are the videos shown. Through the couples’ creativity, we can find funny MTVs or life stories or even appreciation videos from friends all around. However, these videos can all be done way in advance. The wedding videographer that has to do the same-day-edits (SDEs) for the morning highlights in time for the evening banquet is the one with the really tough job. After watching the numerous wedding videos in preparation for our wedding and Hollywood movies for my own entertainment, camera shots and angles have become something quite fascinating to me. I am not going to research and be an expert in this, but I marvel when the videographer are able to capture that right moment that brings out the best of the couple in motion.

Recently our videographers, Alvinadeline updated their blog regularly again. Juggling between moving to their new office, shooting all the weddings and preparing themselves for the peak period of weddings coming at the end of 2010, I think it will not hurt to give them further endorsement of how well they have handled our weddings. Credit to Hellen of course for decorating and designing the wedding with the photographs and videos in mind.

Personally, I want to thank Adeline for being really nice in introducing their videos to us and ensuring us that they will be able to do a good job. Alvin and the assistant was real friendly and reassuring during the actual shooting, and it’s quite amazing how the 2-man team was able to produce the wonderful video with just 2 guys. A very sincere ‘thank-you’ to the wonderful team! After the wedding, several friends enquired about the possibility of engaging them as well, giving further testimonies that the video produced was well-received.

Dear readers, if you have time, check out their portfolio to see some of the amazing work they have done!

Special mentions to… our wedding!

And a rather unique pre-wedding video based on Alice in Wonderland…

I have always been a fan of their SDE, so I will highly recommend them for any weddings!

One last note, when we were collecting our final DVDs from Adeline, we got more chance to talk to her and listen to her as she told us how she juggled her full-time job and part-time videography work in the past. This is so similar to Hellen, who has a full-time job, a part-time business as a wedding designer and being a full-time wife to boot! I guess chasing the dream will always require sacrifices, so if you think you are cut out for a dream big and unusual, step out and grab it!

She says: It’s Showtime!!!

Our awesome weddings have just officially ended! We can’t asked for a better wedding for both outdoor and indoor. It exceeded everyone’s expectation including us. It’s truly and simply because of our friends and helpers that made it come true. We are so thankful to have such a strong team and group of close friends that are not only super creative but also very helpful.

We will feature our wedding in sequence, starting from our beautiful outdoor wedding to our most memorable wedding dinner. Oh lala, we love our wedding and we won’t be shy to show it!

We try to feature every details possible. We learned so much from it and we will use it as reference to move forward in our future step. These valuable lessons need to be learned the hard way. Since we experienced it first hand, we are able to advise other couple to beware of these traps!

But first, let me start by featuring our wedding with a teaser:

“Ladies and Gentlemen, sit back and enjoy our very own wedding highlight by the talented team from Alvinadeline!!” :

This video received the second highest compliment on the wedding banquet when we first showed it to the guests. We really love Alvinadeline’s track movement and film quality style. Great job, Alvin!

She says: Most Beautiful Vows

Wedding vow is supposed to be your own vow. But most of the people used templates to just get it over with.
I have nothing against that, since it happened in most of the weddings I attended.

But why not make it personal. Especially if you are a Christian and you are making a vow in front of God and your beloved. Why go by the book and not by heart?

Enough said. Watch this for yourself. I have never teared watching a stranger’s wedding vow, until now…

Both Yanuar & Yosan are both Chinese-Indonesian, and this was held in Jakarta. Both are members of JPCC (my church in Jakarta!). Solemnized by my favorite Indonesian pastor, Jeffrey Rachmat.

The video is done by the Axioo team. Axioo is the hottest wedding photographer in Jakarta right now. His work is really beautiful and single-handedly leveled up wedding photography in Jakarta (by quality and price list!)

I will make sure both Winston and I write our own vows!

She says: My Preference of Videography, Super 8mm Film

Winston has posted his preferred wedding videography here . So now is my turn!

I love the genuine vintage feel of Super 8mm video. This is not a video effect or some plug ins from After Effects. Although it is impossible to find wedding videographer that does Super 8 in Singapore, I believe some video art student or film art junkies will still have it. I once got hold of it during my study in art school.

Super 8mm was released in 1965 and till now is still surviving, though there is only 1 manufacturing company left in France who produce it.

Enjoy!

He says: Best Wedding Videos Ever!

Taking a little break from my proposal saga, I was facebooking and came across 2 wonderful wedding videos. I am looking for a wedding videographer, and both of these wedding videos just blew me away!

The first one is called ‘Imagine’ done by Santo (Susanto Widjaja) which won 2 Australian Awards! The cool thing about this video is the seamless integration of a storyline (a girl imagining her wedding day) and the actual day’s wedding footage. Amazingly, this is done as a Same-Day-Edit (SDE). Enjoy the video below:

The second one is from my new favourite wedding studio, Moomedia. A super-ultra-cute video of the innocent love story between 2 secondary school sweethearts. It’s called ’10 years in 6 mins’. Maybe because the style of this video is so ‘ME’! Check out the Grasshopper song in the video and you will know why (my cell group will know why!) Not to be missed!

Look out for my actual proposal story next!!!

Countdown to Wedding Day (19-06-10): 261 days
