Step back in time with us, as we present what is essentially our take on a perfect dream wedding… our very Victorian-Inspired Wedding!
Theme of the Wedding: Vintage-Rustic Theme
Our style is to be elegant, antique and classy. To make use of items such as vintage cars, personalized favors and antique furniture to bring out the feel.
Here’s the inspiration board..
The colour scheme includes pale blue, dusty blue, pewter grey, peach and creme. We want to evoke the feel of the olden days with a little twist of blue.
Just like the ol’ saying from Victorian age:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
The main idea is to create the illusion of outdoor and indoor. Outdoor feel for the Matrimony and Indoor feel for the reception. While both events are held outdoor, the props and the decoration stimulate this idea. For holy matrimony, we bring the guests to the street of London with the lamp post, faux windows, fairy lights hanging above the guests.
The idea is drawn here:
Other than the Victorian lamp-posts, we will make use of Victorian-inspired furniture for the chairs and the ROM table. Right above the table, we will have our silhouettes, representing our union in this wedding. The main flowers used is wild roses.
Reception Ideas:
For the reception,we are transforming the outdoor setting into huge living room. We use gazebo tentage to house some of the long tables, while the other long table will be outside. Each table is decorated with vintage props and wild roses. We also bring in the fireplace, sofa and cupboards as props.
All of the furniture is in rustic condition. It’s possible to find these items nowadays, thanks to the growing trend of vintage-like-stuff. They produces new furniture and give it faux finishing and Voila… it looks 50 years old!
The involvement of these furniture will bring another layer of vintage feel to the wedding.
Extras – Booths:
To spice up our vintage wedding, we are including booths as an added elements. A dessert booth with the most mouth-watering candies and a photobooth for our guests to be remembered in our pictures.
Using vintage wallpapers and old photo frames of various shapes and sizes, the guests can utilize all the props to leave an everlasting memory in this wedding.
For us, this will be a perfect dream wedding setting!

Hi there,
Actually we are not professional (yet!). We are doing this out of the passion of preparing our own wedding and really enjoy it from the start.
We are thinking to extend this passion to plan for others once we accomplished our own wedding.
Thank you so much for your compliment!
Ps: English is not my mother tongue also (*Hellen*)
I just wanted to tell you about our beautiful new barn we built for elegant rustic weddings close to Chicago.
Please let me know if you are interested in writing about it on your site.
Cheers
